UK Retreat September 2017
Question: Thank You. Yesterday you talked about focusing between the eyebrows and remaining there with the mind still. This focusing itself needs inner strength, I’ve experienced. How can we gain more inner strength?
Babaji: A will power is needed. Always when we understand the need of it then our thirst power increases, then we go for that with a killer instinct type. When we understand there is no other choice for us, we must do it then we gain the strength that we need to do it. That is why in spiritual teachings we are always reminded of the impermanence of the world, impermanence of our own physical body, our life on this Earth so we understand how short the time that we have, how precious that time is. We have a very little bit of time in this world, we are born in this body and we are going to die. That means we should remind ourselves, all of us the moment we are born in the body we are sentenced to death, and that death can come any moment. Like this when we remember then we will understand that we cannot afford to just sit and waste time. Then we will strongly try to put in an effort, without forcing but it will be a strong effort with total determination.
We will be able to focus well when we understand a very short time is given. You just remind yourself you only have one more hour to die, just remind yourself like that. We used to do like that. Swamiji used to tell me, “You just think that you have only one hour left and you have to become Self Realized. You don’t have any other choice.” Otherwise you will lose your life and you can be born an animal, you can be born as anything. If you remember this you will seriously utilize the whole one hour just to focus and not to do anything else.
